Mölkky is a good social game and a nice way to get to know other people without alcohol.

History and today
Throwing Mölky on the Aurinkoranniko really started in 2011. Daring Finns started throwing at the Fuengirola breakwater. At least Merja and Jorma Stenroos, Pauli Kirves, Irene Porkka, Juha Tiihonen and Petri Mustonen were present at the time. The throwing surface was concrete, a little sand was brushed over it, was it a softer surface, hardly. However, the enthusiasm was huge, and already in the same year the team took part in the tournament for the first time.
In 2012, we got a great area near the festival area next to the Plaza de la Hispanidad for enjoying the mölky. Thanks to our "Super Pepe", with his help the city of Fuengirola gave us our own arena, reportedly the first Mölkky Stadium in the world. Throwers were served from Pepe's bar next door.
The first Costa del Sol Open was organized already that year. We can thank Kirsi and Pauli from Kirve for starting this great tradition. Our association proudly continues this tradition.
The joy ended in 2018 when the city decided to build a so-called water park and that started the drop in the number of our throwers. We had to evacuate and it was difficult to get pitching shifts, until in 2020 the long talked about and thought about own registered association Mölkky Costa del Sol was established, thanks to this we have been able to get pitches from the city on a regular basis.
This started the coast's mölkyn throwing on a new rise and the number of active throwers has grown year by year since then. Our association currently has around 100 licensed throwers. It's good to move on from here.
